Camp de Tarragona is a rather flat, natural and a historical region of southern Catalonia, surrounded by the mountains of the Pre-coastal mountain range and the Mediterranean Sea, bordering on the Penedès region, Conca de Barberà and the Ebro Lands. It is also sometimes known as “el Camp” or “la plana del Camp”.
The region is inhabited by over 425,000 people. In addition to Tarragona City, the most notable municipal districts are Reus, Valls, Salou, Vila-seca, El Vendrell and Torredembarra. Territorially speaking, the Camp encompasses three “comarcas”, the Tarragonès, Alt Camp and Baix Camp, but due to affinity, the Baix Penedès, La Conca de Barberà and El Priorat are also included.
